More than 30 years experience in the construction industry including single family, multi- family, commercial, industrial, and engineering works in western Canada and Washington State as both a consultant and a contractor.

Experienced in Claims Analysis and Preparation, Project Scheduling, Construction Costing and Construction Methods and Materials. Qualified by the Supreme Court of British Columbia as an expert in Project Scheduling, Construction Costing, Construction Deficiencies Cost Analysis. Before forming Costex in 1983, he worked with several large contractors in the Greater Vancouver Area, and in Edmonton, Alberta. His role with these firms included cost control and analysis, scheduling, estimating for tender and other purposes, and project management. During this time he gained experience on a variety of projects including:

A graduate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a diploma in Building Technology in 1971. He has been a Professional Quantity Surveyor since 1983 and is a member in good standing with the Quantity Surveyors Society of British Columbia and of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors. Member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians since 1981 and the British Columbia Mediation and Arbitration Institute since 1991. In 1993 he was granted the designation of Chartered Arbitrator by the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada. Past member of the Ontario Institute of Quantity Surveyors. In October of 1997 he received the designation of Gold Seal Certified Project Manager (GSC) from the Canadian Construction Association.

Presented seminars and lectures on topics in construction sponsored by: The Knowledge Network; Okanagan College Enterprise Centre; British Columbia Institute of Technology; Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia. He also lectured for four years in the Construction Management Program at Douglas College in New Westminster, BC.
